Care information

- Only use fuel with the same or a higher octane rating than the data you received from us.

- After every software performance upgrade, we recommend adjusting the oil change cycle from 2 years/30,000 kilometres to 1 year/15,000 kilometres as well as changing to a high-quality engine oil such as Motul 300V Power 5W40.

- Availability of a software has to be checked live. We need to connect our computer to your ECU in order to check if an ECU/TCU upgrade is available or not.

- We advise against equipping engines with a mileage of over 100,000 kilometres with a new software (Stage1, Stage3, etc). We are not liable for any damage to the engine, transmission (incl. clutch and flywheel) and electronics if you still want a performance upgrade.

Description

APRs new engine software for the Simos 19 ECUs is the result of months of intensive research and development that is unrivalled in the tuning sector.

Their new suite of Simos 19 ECU software comes after months of extensive research and development that is typically absent from the aftermarket. Their upgrade makes the engine more powerful and more exciting. APR has extensively calibrated the system to work flawlessly in various driving conditions while retaining safety routines to protect your engine in the most demanding scenarios. This was all made possible by their engineering team's pursuit of perfection. Development vehicles were outfitted with additional sensors, including turbo shaft speed sensors, thermocouples, transducers, and more, along with our high speed direct RAM logging equipment, to feed valuable data to the team for analysis. After many hours of testing and tuning APR created new calibrations that are fine tuned for several octanes and contain hundreds of map changes, with a vast array of safety features built in.

To protect the engine and components APR has spent a considerable amount of time tuning safety routines, some of which were not active from the factory. The engine has advanced LSPI protection to prevent the engine from damage when being lugged in the tallest gears. Excessive intake air temperature, which is common on a dynamometer, will cause power to reduce to protect the engine. On 6MT equipped vehicles, you’ll achieve full torque, but on DSG equipped vehicles, torque will be limited at the factory limits until the APR TCU upgrade is added. Furthermore more they’ve added and calibrated protection routines for turbocharger pressure ratios, shaft speed, exhaust pressure, intake air temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, lambda, fueling system limitations, and more.
