Care information

Stainless steel or titanium exhaust systems are very low maintenance. Mainly the exhaust tips need to be cleaned.

CHROME OR STAINLESS STEEL TIPS:
Use soap and water to clean the water. In this stage, you need to wash off dirt and brake dust.
Use automotive steel wool to clean heavy carbon buildup, one of the significant causes of exhaust dirt.
Use metal polish to restore lustre.
Use a pressure washer to give a pressure wash to the exhaust with proper pressure.
Use a wire brush to clean the interior part.
Remove the grime. There is always a lot of loose grime left in the exhaust after giving it an internal clean.
Apply metal polish.

POWDER COATED TIPS:
Use soap and water to clean the water. In this stage, you need to wash off dirt and brake dust.
Use a pressure washer to give a pressure wash to the exhaust with proper pressure.

Apply the right polish: GLOSS carbon fiber = gloss finish/polish | MATT carbon fiber = matt finish/polish

Why do Hurricane exhaust systems typically have a pipe diameter of 3.5"?
In short: With a diameter of 3.5", the exhaust gases produced by the engine exit the system at the best possible speed. As these gases flow out, a beautiful muffled, low-frequency sound is created, which Hurricane utilises.

Why TIG welding?
TIG welding uses an inert gas that seals the area to be welded from the inside and outside against the influence of oxygen at the same time. This prevents rust from forming at these points later on. Another point in favour of TIG is that this process produces a very flat and strong weld seam. Conclusion: The exhaust gases are not subject to turbulence during their flow and therefore the optimum sound is achieved. What also sets Hurricane apart from other manufacturers is that they use a figure-of-eight pendulum technique, giving each system its own personal signature.

 

What is included in the scope of delivery?
If you order a Hurricane exhaust system, you will receive the appropriate Hurricane EEC control unit, cable material for connection to the on-board electronics, ECE approval, exhaust clamps and installation material. If your car does not yet have an electric servomotor as standard, you will also find this in your delivery. The corresponding exhaust adjustment rings are also included; these are designed to prevent your exhaust system from moving while driving and to ensure that it always remains in the position for which it is intended.
(Optionally also new tailpipes and the connecting pipe)

Not every original BMW flap module controls the exhaust flaps in accordance with the official ECE specifications. Hurricane therefore also offers its own flap control module, which fulfils the legal requirements 100% and legalises the Hurricane Exhaust system.
